On Thursday, September 10th, many of the school’s upperclassmen could be found buzzing around the cafeteria, setting up posters, sign-up sheets, demonstrating, and explaining what their extracurricular activities were all about. The activity fair was filled with excitement, potential, and enthusiasm for the future; with about 35 different activities for students to get involved with, there is a place for everyone inside the community at Pilgrim.
Freshmen and sophomores were welcomed into the cafeteria to browse the clubs available, ask upperclassmen about the activities, and find their own ways to connect with students. Every extracurricular activity offers a unique opportunity to pursue hobbies, learn new things, and meet new people.
Many students see their clubs as either a chance to pursue academics at a higher level, like the Math Team, Science Olympiad, Academic Decathlon, or Lifesaver students who commit their time during and after school to learn how to save lives, and some students immerse themselves in things like fiction anf fantasy, through Creative Writing Club, Art Club, Comic Book Club, D&D, and Book Club.
The Pilgrim Book Club, like many, has been around for several years, but is under new leadership with seniors Molly Gervais and Serenity Merrow. Gervais explains, “…my goal for this year is to get kids more excited about reading and wanting to come to book club!”
And as each year brings new leaders to every club in Pilgrim, they look to underclassmen to recruit, bringing in members meant to someday take over themselves.

Pilgrim’s activities are a way for any student to find their niche and get involved, but it doesn’t work without both the students and advisors who are willing to dedicate their passion and time to these clubs.
