On January 30th, the Pilgrim Boys Basketball team played Cranston West for their senior night. The night started off with a ceremony, celebrating each senior, including: Jack Cirelli, Michael Bryson, Logan Fuller, Ethan Baker, Derrick Butler, and Terry LaForest, with their family members. The gym walls were covered with posters of each senior, showcasing their time while on the team. The stands were filled with students and family members, supporting their seniors one last time. For the entire first half it was a close scoring game, but eventually ended with West pulling ahead and beating Pilgrim 62-55.

After the game, senior captains Jack Cirelli and Logan Fuller talked about their time on the team. Logan explained that this year, the team focused on communication, which has deeply improved their connection on the court. When asked about what he’s most proud of his team for this year, Logan stated, “I’m most proud of our team’s win against South Kingston, where we won in overtime”. Jack Cirelli talked about the hardest part of being a senior on a high school team. He explained, “It’s hard to say goodbye to the sport I love and I’ve played for over 10 years. It’s also hard to say goodbye to the kids I grew up with. We grew up together on the court.”

Their high school basketball career has officially wrapped up for these 6 seniors after their last five games that followed this one. As much as the goodbyes are hard for this tight group of seniors, their impacts on the team will be passed down to the underclassmen throughout upcoming years.
