Pilgrim High School Pink Out and Teacher Appreciation Game
The Pilgrim High School bleachers were decked out in pink this Friday, October 10th, during the Pink Out and Teacher Appreciation football game. The Pilgrim Patriots ultimately lost to East Greenwich on the scoreboard, but the energy, pride, and school spirit made up for it.

Students, families, and faculty filled the stands, wearing pink in support of breast cancer awareness. Unlike most Friday nights, this game was not just about football. Under the lights beamed the spirit, support, and gratitude of the community. Prior to the kickoff, a pregame ceremony was held where both senior football players and cheerleaders set out to the field with a teacher of their choice, someone who held a meaningful impact on their personal education and high school experience. This heartfelt tribute reminded everyone of the significance and importance of teachers, and the influence they have on shaping the lives of students.
Despite a great game and hard effort, the Patriots fell short to East Greenwich in a tough match.
Adding to the spirit of the night, the Pilgrim cheerleading team was joined by the Warwick PAL cheerleaders. It really elevated the crowd’s spirits, sparking excitement and happiness to see the cheerleaders working and interacting with future cheerleaders of Pilgrim.

Despite walking away without a win, the game was a powerful reflection of what Pilgrim High School stands for. The blend of appreciation for teachers, the support of an ongoing, critical cause, along with the thrill of a game, all under the Friday night lights, makes one unforgettable evening. It is moments like these that show the strength and unity of Pilgrim’s community, on and off the field.
