The graduating class of 2026 hosted its Touch a Truck fundraiser on September 27th, a beautiful, sunny September Saturday. The event welcomed multiple trucks, excavators, and other vehicles, like police, military cars, and even an ice cream truck that visitors could go into and touch! All the help was volunteered by local businesses and departments. Adult admission was five dollars, while child admission was completely free.

Cameron Gavitt, Vice President of the senior class, said, “It is a really good event for kids because it is a hands-on approach to learn about the community and different careers to aspire to be.” She later added how beneficial it was for kids to ask questions to these volunteers and how beneficial it was for the senior class as well. “Last year we held a Touch a Truck event for junior prom and that got us around $1,000, and this year we are hoping to raise around that amount for senior prom at the end of the year off of this year’s event.”

The event was very lively, with not only numerous kind first responders, landscapers, and mailmen, but also many seniors helping out too! Touch a Truck was truly SPECTACULAR! The senior class hopes to raise even more funds this year for their senior prom and wishes you to be there to contribute. Congratulations to everyone involved in another successful event!
