A popular senior privilege is being allowed to wear your favorite Halloween costume to school. Let’s just say, this year was a big hit.

If you walked the halls, you would be surprised with blowups, face masks, scream costumes, and face paint in every direction you looked. Every year, the seniors who dress up can participate in a costume contest competing in one of five categories: Coolest Character, Funniest Costume, Spookiest Costume, Most Original, and Best In Show. The seniors showed up and showed out in their costumes by putting their efforts into looking their best, or in this case, their worst.

Spookiest: Jayden Baez

The contest was held in the auditorium, and every contestant walked across the stage with a stunt of their choice. Some notable entries people came up with include, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Beetlejuice, The Christmas of Darkness, Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, Batman, Hockey Player, The Joker, A Priest, The Lorax, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Vampire, Jason from Friday the 13th, and there were more…

There were fake fists thrown, flips in the air, and “spells” being put on the audience. Every costume was impressive and distinct which left a mark on the audience. After the show the seniors voted for their favorite in each category, and the winners were announced later that day (see below).

Coolest Character: Tyler Boudreau and Liam Holmes: Fight Club

Funniest: Kaley Simas, Riley Rastella, Jordania Rivera, Lily Batchelor, Alexis Warburton: The Lorax

Spookiest: Jayden Baez: Jason from Friday the 13th

Most Original: Matthew Heon – Cowboy

Best in Show: Kary Baptiste – Priest

Thank you to all of the seniors who brought their best efforts to dress up and make this tradition a success. Happy Halloween!
