The class of 2027’s Executive Board Elections were held September 18th, 2024.  There was only one position being run for this year-the position of President.  Both Vice President (Addison Mendoza) and Secretary (Saidana Lay) claimed their positions unopposed.  The three candidates that ran for President were Julio Quezada, Brett Taylor, and the standing 2023-24 President, Jane Fontaine.

Julio Quezada had the first speech of the assembly.  He tells the class of 2027 that he has previous experience in working with the Executive Board, attending meetings, and by helping out in any way possible.  Julio said that he is willing to listen to other people’s ideas and work to make the class of 2027’s high school experience as fun as possible.  Julio also plans to focus on Homecoming ideas and listen to ideas others had on the event. 

Brett Taylor had the second speech of the assembly.  He tells the class of 2027 that he has had previous experience with the Executive Board by being the Treasurer last year and other leadership roles.  Brett believes the class of 2027 can do better financially and organizationally than they did last year.  He also had experience running successful fundraisers and is willing to listen to others ideas on community and school projects.

Lastly, Jane Fontaine gives her speech.  She tells the class of 2027 that she has experience in the Executive Board from being the President last year.  Jane tells the class that she generated a positive attitude last year and worked closely with other classes boards for events.  Jane was focused on raising money for homecoming and Junior Prom.  In addition, Jane wants to help create community service hours and improve the community.  She is also willing to listen to others opinions on the board’s ideas.  A quote from the standing President states; “I wish to accomplish fundraising to help earn more money for our proms and to have a good homecoming where everyone has a good time.”

While all the candidates were highly qualified for the position the class sent in their votes.  Their new President is Brett Taylor and their new Treasurer is Jane Fontaine.
